Welcome to the Bayouland YMCA Fitness Center, where we offer a comprehensive range of facilities and programs to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. Our state-of-the-art indoor pool, basketball gymnasium, and steam rooms are complemented by a fully equipped weight room and cardio area. With dedicated personal trainers, a variety of group fitness and aqua classes, and specialized teen training programs, we cater to all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're looking to get fit, stay active, or simply unwind, our supportive community and expert staff are here to guide you every step of the way.

    Weight Room

    • Precor Weight Room Equipment
    • Dedicated plate weight area, featuring free-weight dumbbells, squat rack, flat and incline bench press, smith machine, and a variety of assisted weight and cable-loaded machines
    • Must be 15 years or older
    • Ages 12-14 must complete Teen Training (4 one-hour personal training sessions for $125) to obtain use of cardio & weight area
    • Do not bang or drop weights

    Cardio Room

    • Precor, Matrix, and Octane cardio equipment for all levels of fitness
    • AB area with punching bag and speed bag
    • Treadmills, ellipticals, rowers, stair climber, Spin Bike, and rec Bike
    • Ages 12-14 must complete Teen Training (4 one-hour personal training sessions for $125)

    • Teen Training (4 one-hour sessions) $125
    • Personal Training (one hour) $45 per session

    Group Descriptions

    • Les Mills BodyPump - Overhaul your workout with this original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. Kia kaha, Stand strong.

    • Les Mills BodyCombat - Fiercely energetic program inspired by martial arts. Strike, punch, kick, and kata your way through calories to cardio fitness.

    • Les Mills BodyBalance - A dynamic fusion for traditional mind-body disciplines of yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. It is a holistic exercise to music class set to calming, yet powerful music. Use your own body weight to build strength and flexibility.

    • Zumba Gold - A lower intensity workout class designed for seniors and older adults, that uses simple to follow Zumba choreography that promotes balance, range of motion, and coordination.

    • Baby Bloomers - This class incorporates 20 minutes of dynamic movement, 20 minutes of strength, and 20 minutes of core and flexibility. This fun and energizing class is great for those getting back to fitness.

    • Basic Step - Take basic step and add a twist of Hip Hop, a Latin touch, or just a step your way fit. A step for everyone. Challenge and be challenged.

    • Traditional Yoga/Yoga Wellness - Use the combination of yoga poses and controlled movements with deep breathing to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mental focus.

    • Restorative Yoga - Center your breath and body while practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. Simply restorative.

    • Indoor Cycling - Stationary exercise bicycle focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (optional), and recovery.

    • Chair Fitness - A comprehensive chair fitness exercise program designed for individuals who have complications standing during a fitness regimen. This program will help develop balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility.
